Info Post
To the dismay of those like myself who have an unadulterated passion for color, Milan Fashion Week presented little to no color in the majority of the collections. This wasn't much of a surprise. After all, Milan Fashion Week shows the classic Italian luxury brands, which often focus on simplicity and quality. This certainly isn't a bad thing - it's just the signature of Milan. Italian fashion is timeless and elegant, focusing on fantastic craftsmanship rather than busy prints or lots of bright colors. Nonetheless, there was still a sampling of color to whet my fashion appetite.
Below, I've selected my favorite colorful looks from Milan Fashion Week.

Out of the small percentage of color usage in the Milan shows, there was a good range of color palette. Different shades of blue were popular choices, but other colors showed their face. Giorgio Armani presented beautiful pink and orange color blocking and No. 21 contained a gorgeous teal shade. Silhouettes focused mainly on structure, from Jil Sander's beautifully constructed below-the-knee coats to sculpted shoulders at Versus. These looks feel architectural in shape, with a firm and solid design, yet the addition of color lightens the mood and harshness of the silhouette.

Now that Paris Fashion Week has begun, let's hope for some more color!
