Info Post
I'm so happy that Blogger is back up and I can post again! Hopefully my missing Chanel post will be restored soon.

Anyways, today I wanted to talk about a designer I discovered named Bernhard Willhelm.
Willhelm was born in Ulm, Germany and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He assisted Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Dirk Bekkembergs, and Walter van Bereindonck during this time. Bernhard Willhelm founded his eponymous label with business partner Jutta Kraus in 1999 and presented his first women's collection in Paris. The first Bernhard Willhelm store opened in Shibuya, Tokyo at PARCO in 2006, designed in collaboration with Cyril Duval. His line is carried in stores all over the world, including Maryam Nasseir Zadeh in New York, Creatures of Comfort in Los Angeles, Le Bon Marché in Paris, and The Convenience Store in London.

Autumn/winter 2011-2012 collection:

Willhelm's use of color and pattern may be crazy, but it makes for beautiful and artistic creations.
The pieces that are sold on his website are more toned down and much more wearable, though they are quite pricey.

"Shyaiko" Dress

This dress is one of Willhelm's more wearable creations, yet it certainly doesn't lack in the creativity department. The marker-colored vibe makes the piece feel very one-of-a-kind and the combination of salmon pink and this deep shade of blue looks beautiful together set against off-white. The dress would be perfect for a dinner out at a trendy restaurant or as an unusual summer dress for those days when you really want to stand out of the crowd.

"Su" Dress

The juxtaposition of color and pattern in this garment is full of life. This dress feels so bright and cheerful that wearing it would make anyone happy! The silhouette is a bit tricky, but I love the look of this dress.

"Reloaded" Legging

I love that these leggings are made in an x-ray style. The beautiful radioactive-like shade of green adds interest to neutral colors. Leggings like these are subtle statements that can be paired with solid colored tops.

"Trixxx + Dye white"

This top looks so silky, soft, and comfortable. I love the blue, yellow-orange, and pink together: an unexpected combination that works well with stark white. The folds and drapes of this top remind me somewhat of origami, in that the lines of the garment are so intricate and purposeful.

"Evil Angel" top

This definitely isn't the most practical top, but the silhouette is gorgeously sculptural. This is the kind of piece where every time you look at it, you'll notice something different.

"No.85 Bag"

If this bag weren't so expensive, I would snap it up immediately! I can't express how much I love these colors and prints together that are reminiscent of those on the second dress posted in this section. This bag feels like it was lifted right out of a fairytale. Despite the intricate work down on the surface, the silhouette is casual and slouchy and would make for a good tote; this contrast works well. One of my favorite details here is the subtle knots.
