Info Post
Scottish designer Louise Gray is known for her wildly colorful aesthetic, with an emphasis on specially developed fabrics using a variety of woven, embroidered and printing techniques. Her designs enliven London Fashion Week runways each season with bold layering of vivid hues and standout textures.

The designer has now honed her skills to create a capsule collection for Topshop that launched just a few days ago in the United States. The prime focus of the collaboration is makeup: glitter nail polishes, bright cheek and eyeshadow palettes, pastel makeup cases and glitter pots.
The Louise Gray for Topshop clothing is an enrapturing paradise for those who love anything that sparkles. Three dresses, a tee and a pair of trousers are embellished with ultra-colorful sequins in zigzag patterns and endearing smiley-faces.

Growing up with three sisters, Gray seized her individuality and ran with it. She's always loved all things sparkly - ever since her youthful dress-up days amongst her mother's possessions. The collection stems from her personal style and what she wants to wear on a day-to-day basis. Perhaps crowds of sequins don't appear to be the most practical to us lay folk, but Gray's collection is designed to be accessible. Whether her girl wants to go for a bold sequined dress or experiment with unusual colors of cream eyeshadow, there are countless ways to put a personal spin on the collaboration. And that's exactly what Gray was aiming for: she wants her customer to have fun and wear her pieces with humor. "As long as you feel good in yourself, that's all that matters," Gray encourages.

Yes, the collection is a bit out there (Gray looks to "Express Yourself" by Madonna to boost her creative confidence) but it's crazy, feel-good exoticism. When in doubt, opt for a touch of sparkle: try the sequined tee with jeans and throw on a neutral jacket or even layer it underneath a cropped sweater for a subtler take.

The collaboration brings a mechanism for fashion experimentation to the masses. For the risk-takers, it can be difficult to satiate one's appetite when the most daring pieces ring in at high-fashion prices. Whether through makeup or sequined clothing, Louise Gray for Topshop makes fashion adventure more accessible.

What do you think of the collaboration?
