Info Post
The fall 2011 RTW show for Marc by Marc Jacobs was full of modernized 70s-meets-40s glamour.
Both the socks and heels trend and the below-the-knee trend were present in the collection, consistent with what has been seen in other recent seasons. Here, though, the shoes were more masculine: heeled loafers and lace-up combat boots strode down the runway in each look. Below-the-knee looks maintained a feminine vibe, but they felt more classic than silhouettes from this spring and last fall.
Prints and color were present in true Marc Jacobs fashion and his aesthetic was fully present.

The bright colors and pattern of this first look are absolutely stunning. A perfect representation of Marc by Marc Jacobs style. Need I say more?
The pattern on the right is intriguing, reminiscent of Native American artwork. It has a certain cold-weather feel to it, though I'm sure the dress is quite cozy. The colors look beautiful together, and I love the dashes of sky blue. I also like the interesting pairing of the dress with the boots.

You might already know how much I adore emerald green. If not, now you know.
This shade looks stunning in autumnal garb, and I don't understand why designers overlook this color when it comes time for the fall collections. It's the perfect alternative to a fall wardrobe full of reds, oranges, browns, and blacks.
The pattern of the look on the right is similar to that of the look above it, yet it feels more tribal and African-influenced than that of the other color scheme.

The coat on the left is so beautiful. Fall and winter coats are always so boring, but this one is fun and punchy and will add a dose of quirkiness to any outfit. I love this shade of blue.
The suit on the right is absolutely fabulous! It's hard to say whether it's made of velvet or corduroy, but nonetheless the texture combined with the color is eye-catching and makes a huge impact. This deep purple-y wine shade reflects the light beautifully and serves as an unexpected neutral. The color will go with everything and add unexpected charm and chicness to any work outfit.

Every season, Marc Jacobs churns out impeccable clothing. It's always such a delight to see what he dreams up next.

xoxo
