Info Post
Blazers aren't just for work.
One of the rising trends that many of those chic girls who you see on the street and envy adhere to is the wearing of blazers as outerwear. Blazers are jackets and sometimes can even be used as accessories. They are garments that add something special to an outfit, not just a piece of clothing that covers up your bare shoulders (because tank tops are sometimes inappropriate, but so cute you just have to wear one).
I am of that population that has this belief about blazers, especially due to the fact that I have no job to wear a blazer to. Despite this, I do, in fact, own a blazer. But now I am pleased to announce that designers are catching on to the fact that blazers can be a lot of fun.
It's time to dress up in your neutrals and throw on a beautiful blazer that is full of color.

This Suno blazer is delicately detailed with bursting colors and careful beading. The blazer looks pretty wild, especially when seen from a closer view, but the shape is that of an ordinary, tailored blazer. The overall color scheme actually isn't that crazy, though it certainly adds a pop (the orange beading in particular). This is the one-of-a-kind piece that can be thrown on over a basic outfit and make anything look absolutely dashing and unique. It's the piece that gets you tons of compliments, even if you're just wearing jeans and a basic white tee underneath. A garment like this is special and can be treated like a fragile work of art. (Of course, a piece of art that is worn; why buy this and not wear it?)

Yet another fabulous Suno blazer.
Not only is the unusual pattern eye-catching and reminiscent of a glamourous zebra print, but this blazer is 100% silk, which is certainly an unusual material for a blazer. Just imagine how amazing this piece would feel on!
I love that the yellow and black work so well together here and manage avoiding the bumblebee look (a common problem with this color scheme). The shade of yellow is light and feels so happy and full of sunshine. The details on this piece are beautiful but understated, such as the slightly puffed sleeves, the asymmetrical hem, and the lace strips on the bottom of the blazer that surprisingly are almost unnoticeable.
A blazer like this is an unusual basic, one that will go with many different things but would not commonly be seen as a basic piece. It's something that can be thrown on to cover up chilly arms without the fear of looking frumpy.

If these Suno blazers have sparked your interest, you can read my Suno post (my first ever Girl Loves Color post!) or visit the Suno website.

This Current/Elliott blazer has an old-school, faded denim vibe. Despite this, the color is very rich and full of feeling. However, this blue will go with virtually anything, making this piece a good wardrobe staple that gives the typical navy or black blazer a bit of a twist. The brown button and skillful tailoring add more charm to a classic piece.

These Carven blazers come in two unexpectedly pretty shades.
The purple has bluish-gray tones, making it more of a subtle color rather than a very bright tone, as most purples tend to be. The dusty vibe that the color conveys gives gentle charm to a classic piece. A blazer like this is very versatile, with a color different enough to stand out but light enough to go with everything from black pants to blue jeans. It will dress up any casual outfit or make a statement at a formal affair.
This orange shade is a creamy, peachy color that is bright but not electrifyingly so. Though it will go with less pieces than the purple one, this color still has the same capabilities to dress up any casual outfit. The orange color will go well with many different patterns, as well as neutral apparel.
The blazer is also very well designed, with unusual flap placement that balances out the shape of the piece and will streamline any figure. The tailoring and the neckline are also great.

This blazer by Topshop has a warm, brick red color with hints of orange. The shade naturally lends itself to any casual outfit because of that warm and cozy feeling, making this piece fully capable of becoming a wardrobe staple of comfort. It can easily be paired with any colors and patterns and is roomy enough to wear layers underneath. The large pockets are also quite handy.

What's on my shopping list for summer? A comfortable, colorful piece that I can throw on over my t-shirts and tank tops when the air conditioning becomes too much. It might just be a blazer.

xoxo
