ANREALAGE's autumn/winter 2011 collection was inspired by pixels.

We are living in a society that is obsessed with the idea of getting the best quality or the best image. It's all about the "best." This is why it's nice to see a collection focused on the epitome of "low quality." Painters surpassed this belief that high quality is best a long time ago, evident in the many different styles of painting that exist today (e.g. impressionist vs. realistic). All of these types of paintings are considered art.
Let's do the same with fashion. Fashion is not just something used to clothe the body. Fashion is a form of art that is every imaginable form of art combined into one big industry. High fashion sends a message to the consumer, to the viewer. In the case of ANREALAGE's collection, the message I'm getting is that everything is beautiful. Pixels, the outcasts of our tech-savvy age, can be transformed into art.

xoxo
