Info Post
After the luxury of spending several hours in Opening Ceremony earlier this afternoon, I find that I am especially moved by the bold and avant-garde. I suppose that's not very surprising, considering my unusual taste, but I have the sudden temptation to pair my new OC knit (snagged from a seductive set of markdowns) with an emerald brocade Kenzo skirt and sneakers.

Now is an experimental time: girls on the street are debuting unlikely combinations in their everyday outfits, designers are starting to break the fashion cycle in favor of true innovation. What with the flood of information we are bombarded with as tech-oriented individuals, we are more pressed to stand out.

Nylon hits the nail on the head this month with the editorial Shock of the New, pairing rising names with labels that are becoming more familiar to us in an eclectic mix of print and color. It seems that the fashion collective is crying out a message of visual excess. But it is not relayed in a materialistic sense. This is about confidence and daring and filling the void of jeans and tees with some fresh personality.
