The show was filled with bright kimono-inspired garments with lacy Oriental-ish fans. I loved how Jacobs played on the kimono inspiration, with kimono-print blazers and high-waisted bloomers, injecting a sense of modernity into the idea of kimonos. Of course there were also looks that stayed truer to the initial Oriental inspiration, evident in pants and jackets. In between these looks were dresses that called to mind flappers, yet the stripes of color and the cut updated the flapper look.
The collection also included luxurious and colorful knit dresses, neon-bright color blocking, beautiful floral prints. Finishing up the show with a dose of sophisticated fun were whimsical animal-print designs, including tons of zebra print and cute pandas and giraffes.
I really loved the looks presented in this show, so it was hard for me to choose which ones to include in this post, but I find that this is a good representation.

There are a whooping ten images from the show in this post, but, in fact, the entire collection had over 50 stunning looks. Click this link if you are interested in viewing the whole spring 2011 women's ready-to-wear or the runway video.
The images I've used in this segment are all from New York magazine's website, which contains a wonderful fashion section, including coverage of basically every runway show from this season and others. So if you're interested - and I hope that after this series of posts you are! - you can check out the website to see the full shows of the other designers I covered in "Color on the Runway."
Click here to search for the runway show you want to view. All of the designers I've blogged about in the last week or so can be found there.
I hope you've enjoyed this segment! Feel free to let me know if you want to see more things like this.
Now, however, I'm planning to blog about more personal - and more affordable - things relating to the fashion world. And to all things colorful, of course!
